TERM SELF ASSESSMENTS
Twice each term, students will be asked to assess their own success or shortcomings in the areas of rehearsal participation and performance participation--once at midterm and again at the end of the term. These self-assessments are completed using an online tool made available during a given window of time. All students are expected to complete these self-assessments by a given deadline.
The instructor reserves the right to adjust these self-assigned grades depending on certain criteria, including but not limited to absences, tardies, behavioral issues, missing a concert with or without prior notification, missing a dress rehearsal, etc. Each of these criteria may result in a half-grade deduction, per infraction.
Students are encouraged to speak to the instructor if there are questions or concerns about grades. While the instructor will happily discuss grades with parents, it is the sole responsibility of the student to initiate and have such conversations with the instructor.
